About GGR
Gruhe Gruhe Rāmāyaṇam (GGR) is a one-year program that facilitates the Pārāyaṇam i.e. reading of complete Śrīmad Vālmīki Rāmāyanam.
GGR is a result of an initiative started in the year 2019 by a group of six people to read the complete Śrīmad Vālmīki Rāmāyanam. By reading around two sargas a day, the team completed it in less than a year. The wonderful experience of the team led them to conceptualize and bring out the Gruhe Gruhe Ramayanam, in the year 2021, with the support of Samskrita Bharati. Since 2021, the program has facilitated many to read the complete Srimad Vālmiki Rāmāyaṇam.
The 5th edition of the program - Rama Navami 2025 (6 April 2025) - Rama Navami 2026 (26 Mar 2026) saw around 245 people from various parts of the world who read the complete Śrīmad Vālmīki Rāmāyanam.

How does the program work?
Participants join a WhatsApp group where the journey of Srimad Vālmiki Rāmāyaṇam unfolds. To ensure a meaningful experience, we provide guidance and resources daily.
Daily Morning Briefings: Every morning at ~5:00 AM, we share a Sarga Summary Message. This includes a clear overview of the two sargas for the day, accompanied by a soul-stirring audio recitation of the sargas.
Flexible Reading: Facilitated by our summaries, you can read the verses using your own books or online resources. While the program follows a pace of two sargas a day, you are welcome to adjust this to your convenience.
Interactive Progress Tracking: Along with the daily brief, a simple poll allows you to update your Pārāyaṇam status and stay connected with the community's collective progress.
Evening Insights: Each day concludes with "Interesting Information", featuring two or three significant shlokas captured from the daily sargas, highlighting the timeless wisdom of the text.
Through this journey, in an attempt to take you from पठनम् (Reading) to मननम् (Reflection), we organise interactive sessions with experts and publish quizzes.
